Mumbai Indians fast, bowler, Jofra Archer has hit out at rumours over his elbow injury concerns in a strongly-worded tweet on Wednesday, April 26. Archer expressed his disappointment at not having taken his side of the story before putting it out after a British media outlet reported that the England fast bowler traveled to Belgium midway during IPL 2023 to consult a specialist.
Archer seemed irate at the media report at a time when he has been dealing with injury concerns. Archer, who was bought for Rs 8 crore by Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022 mega auction, did not feature in a single match last year but
joined the squad ahead of IPL 2023 season. However, the express pacer has featured in two matches for Mumbai Indians.
Archer, who returned to international cricket after a nearly 2-year absence earlier this year in South Africa, played Mumbai Indians' season opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 2. He did not feature in the next 5 games for MI even as head coach Mark Boucher said the pacer picked up a 'little niggle'.
Archer returned to action in MI's defeat to Punjab Kings on April 22 but he missed the game in Ahmedabad against Gujarat Titans on April 25 due to illness.
