There will be only one Thursday double-header in the IPL 2023 season instead of two as there is a change in schedule for Lucknow Super Giants' home game against Chennai Super Kings.

There were 2-weekday double-headers scheduled in IPL 2023 - April 20 and May 4. However, CSK's away game in Lucknow has been moved from May 4 to May 3 due to the Municipal Corporation election in the North Indian city.

"IPL 2023 match 46 between Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings, originally scheduled for Thursday 4th May 2023 in Lucknow, has now been rescheduled for Wednesday 3rd May 2023," an IPL release

said.

"The fixture has been revised owing to the Lucknow Municipal Corporation election on 4th May. There has been no change in match timings and the game will begin at 3:30 PM IST," he added.

Wednesday, May 3 will be a double-header as Punjab Kings will host Mumbai Indians in the evening game that begins at 7:30 pm at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.

This will be the first time Lucknow will host Chennai Super Kings in an IPL match and the home team will be looking to put the pressure on MS Dhoni's men after losing a high-scoring thriller on their trip toil Chepauk earlier in the IPL 2023 season.
