Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Kolkata Knight Riders in the 19th match of IPL 2023 on Friday. In the game played at the KKR's home ground, Eden Gardens, Kolkata, Team SRH registered a win by 23 runs. Coming to bat first after losing toss, the Sunrisers scored 228/4 in 20 overs. In response, the Knight Riders manage to reach 205/7 during chase.
Kolkata Knight Riders made an underwhelming start as their opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz returned back to the hut very early that too without scoring any runs. N. Jagadeesan stabilized the innings before getting dismissed after scoring 26 runs. Venkatesh Iyer contributed just 10 runs. However, KKR skipper Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh registered an impressive partnership. While Rana finished his innings with 75 runs, Rinku on the other hand scored 58 runs. Andre Russell who was brilliant with the ball was dismissed after scoring just 3 runs.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 1 wicket, and Marco Jason took 2 wickets for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Apart from them, Mayank Markande scalped 2 wickets and finished with impressive figures of 27-4.

Hyderabad did not have a good start either as their opener Mayank Agarwal got out after scoring 9 runs. After this, Rahul Tripathi scored 9 runs before getting dismissed. But Harry Brook stabilized SRH innings and registered a partnership with Aiden Markram who scored 50 runs. Brook registered the 1st century of the season and finished his by scoring 100 runs in just 55 balls. Apart from him, Abhishek Sharma played innings of 32 runs. Heinrich Klaasen on the other hand, contributed 16 runs.
KKR bowlers struggled during the 1st innings of the game. While Andre Russell took 3 wickets for 22 runs in 2.1 overs, Varun Chakraborty managed to take 1 wicket.
