It was all too familiar for RCB fans as the former finalists lost an IPL match despite their superstar cricketer shouldering the burden of scoring big. On Saturday at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, RCB lost despite a gritty 113 not out from Virat Kohli as RR made light work of an 184-run chase. Jos Buttler's 100 not out off 58 balls on a sensational return to form and captain Sanju Samson's 42-ball 69 helped the Royals gun down the target in 19.1 overs and 6 wickets to spare.

Even as batting became a little easier in the late evening in Jaipur, Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson tore into the RCB bowling unit, striking them with a lot of intent. The spin attack between the two sides also proved to be a difference as Rajasthan's experienced campaigners in Yuzvendra Chahal and R Ashwin bowled much better than rookies Mayank

Dagar and Himanshu Sharma of RCB.

Jos Buttler managed scores of 11, 11 and 13 in his first three matches of IPL 2024, but he chose the perfect time to join the party as he hit the winning run in style with a six that took him from 94 to 100. Buttler became the second man after KL Rahul to hit a hundred in his 100th match in the IPL. It was also Buttler's 6th hundred in the IPL as he went level with Chris Gayle in the elite list.

With their 4th win in as many matches, Rajasthan leapfrogged the Knight Riders to return to the top of the IPL 2024 points table. Sanju Samson's men were clinical with bat, ball and on the field as RCB paid the price for lack of intent in all 3 departments. Barring Virat Kohli's 113, none of the others stepped up as the 2016 finalists lost their 4th in 5 matches in the ongoing season.
