After two electrifying days of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction in Jeddah, the 10 participating teams have assembled their rosters for the upcoming season. The auction was a spectacle of intense bidding wars and record-breaking purchases, as franchises fought to secure their dream squads. While Day 1 saw blockbuster deals for Indian stars, Day 2 continued the trend with teams tactically splurging to stack their lineups.

Rishabh Pant headlined the event, becoming the costliest player in IPL history. The Lucknow franchise broke the bank, shelling out an unprecedented Rs 27 crore for the dynamic wicketkeeper-batter. Hot on his heels, Shreyas Iyer made waves, fetching Rs 26.75 crore from Punjab Kings, making him the second most expensive player in IPL auction history. A surprise highlight came when Venkatesh Iyer, after a fierce bidding war between Kolkata and Bengaluru, returned to Kolkata for a staggering Rs 23.75 crore.

Among overseas players, Jos Buttler stole the show, becoming the costliest international pick at Rs 15.75 crore. Meanwhile, KL Rahul found a new home with the Delhi Capitals, being snapped up for Rs 14 crore, adding significant firepower to their batting lineup.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), initially criticised for their subdued activity on Day 1, made calculated moves on Day 2. They secured the services of power-hitter Tim David, all-rounder Krunal Pandya, and seasoned India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar for Rs 10.75 crore, addressing key gaps in their squad.

However, the auction wasn’t without surprises. Big names like David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, and Mustafizur Rahman found no takers and went unsold, sparking debate among fans and experts alike.

With the mega auction concluded, teams are now ready to shift focus to on-field action. The revamped squads, boasting a mix of proven stars and exciting new talent, promise a fiercely competitive season ahead. As IPL 2025 approaches, fans eagerly await the fireworks that are sure to light up the cricketing stage.
