India Women delivered a commanding performance to defeat Ireland Women by 116 runs in the second ODI at Rajkot, sealing the three-match series 2-0 with one game remaining. Jemimah Rodrigues’ maiden international century was the highlight of India’s innings, supported by contributions from the top order.
After opting to bat first on a flat track, Indian openers Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal gave the team a flying start with a 156-run partnership in just 19 overs. Mandhana's 73 off 54 balls, laced with 10 fours and 2
sixes, and Rawal's solid 67 laid the foundation. However, both fell off consecutive deliveries, giving Ireland a chance to slow things down.
Harleen Deol and Jemimah Rodrigues then rebuilt the innings. Deol scored 89 off 84 balls, while Rodrigues took her time initially before accelerating towards the end. Jemimah smashed 102 off 91 deliveries, including 12 boundaries, to guide India to their highest-ever ODI total of 370/5. The finishing touches were provided by the lower order as India added 102 runs in the last 10 overs.
