Jofra Archer on Tuesday rejoined England squad ahead of 3rd and final Test after his second coronavirus test came back negative, the England and Wales Cricket Board said.
Archer was allowed out only for carefully controlled solitary fitness work, and later fined about 15,000 pounds ($19,000) at a disciplinary hearing. Archer is available to play in Friday's third and final Test at Emirates Old Trafford.
Archer had been fined an undisclosed amount and received an official written warning for breaking the quarantine protocols set in place by the England cricket officials.
Archer was axed from England's squad for the 2nd Test for breaching the Covid-19 protocols by going to his flat in Brighton following the series opener in Southampton last week.
Archer had
to self-isolate for five days in his room at the England squad's on-site hotel at Old Trafford.
With the England vs West Indies series tied at 1-1 thanks to Ben Stokes' heroics, Jofra Archer's availability is likely to boost England's options to take the game to their opponents.
Joe Root insisted Archer’s lapse in judgment would not be held against him when it came to selection.
"It was disappointing from our side of things but as far as I'm concerned he (Archer) has been through a disciplinary meeting, he's very aware of the consequences of his actions and very remorseful," Root said.
"As a side and mates, we've been there for him. He's aware he made a massive error but once the disciplinary has gone through it's time for us to look at him being available."
