KL Rahul roared back to form, hitting a well-paced hundred in the 2nd ODI against England at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Friday. The wicketkeeper-batsman proved his class, bringing up his 5th ODI hundred in 108 balls to give India a good platform to finish big after the hosts were asked to bat.
KL Rahul hit 2 sixes and 6 boundaries after coming into bat when India were in a spot of bother, losing openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan inside the first 10 overs. Rahul started off cautiously but kept moving the
scoreboard by consistently getting boundaries.
It was the first time KL Rahul has scored a hundred while batting at No. 4 in ODIs. Rahul, who also has a hundred at No. 5, has been proving to be a top player for India in the middle-order despite not naturally suited to playing in the middle overs.
This was also the first time since February 2020 KL Rahul has got an international hundred. The Punjab Kings captain was warming the benches in the Test series in Australia and England despite travelling with the squad.
