The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), custodian of cricket laws today, announced its new code of laws for 2022, making significant changes for the first time since 2017; the implementation of this will take place from October 1, 2022. The MCC has ratified as many as nine rule changes.
As per the one of the changed new norm , the new batter will
be on strike even if the players cross when the catch is taken. Also, there’s a permanent ban on the use of saliva to shine the ball And reframed the law around the running out the non-striker while backing up.
An updated code of the Laws was approved by the MCC's main committee this week.
