Right-handed batter Prithvi Shaw has found his way back into the Delhi Capitals (DC) playing XI for the match against the Mumbai Indians (MI) on Saturday, May 21 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Thane-born Young Turk has already missed quite a few matches in the tournament after he suffered from high fever a few days ago.
Shaw has opened the batting with David Warner, who is the leading run-scorer for the franchise with five half-centuries to his name. Shaw has been excellent for the Capitals in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL),
having scored 259 runs at an average of 28.77 and a strike rate of 159.87 with two fifties to show for his efforts.
DC would want Shaw to fire as they are in a must-win scenario. If the Capitals lose to Mumbai, Faf du Plessis’ Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) would make their way through to the playoffs along with Gujarat Titans (GT), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Rajasthan Royals (RR).
If DC win the game, they will be locking horns with KL Rahul’s Super Giants in the Eliminator on Wednesday, May 25 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
