India's Mohammed Siraj was given the man of the series award after a scintillating performance in the ODI series against South Africa. Siraj, who was forced to take on the responsibility to lead the Indian attack, came up with flying colours in the last two matches of the series. The player had earlier been hit for 49 runs in the first ODI but came back strong in the last two matches.
Speaking at the post match presentation, Siraj talked about the passion and drive of being a fast bowler.
Performing against a
good team gives you a lot of confidence. I had to take the responsibility. I try to figure out the right lengths at the start of the innings. As a fast bowler you need that fire and passion inside you," the fast bowler said.
Siraj made yet another compelling case for himself for the final position left in the T20 World Cup squad for India, which has been left vacant after Jasprit Bumrah's injury. Mohammed Shami is widely expected to fill in that position, but India have not made any announcement, despite the tournament just a week away.
