India U19 star G Kamalini became the youngest debutant in the history of the Women’s Premier League (WPL). On Tuesday, February 18, the left-handed batter got her maiden WPL cap for the 2023 champions Mumbai Indians (MI) at the age of 16 years and 213 days in the match against Gujarat Giants at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.

She went past her U19 teammate Shabnam Shakil, who made her debut for the Giants back in 2024 at the age of 16 years and 263 days in a match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Recently, Kamalini and Shabnam’s U19 teammate, VJ Joshitha became the youngest WPL debutant



for RCB at the age of 18 years and 205 days.
