Veteran Bangladeshi cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim has announced his retirement from One Day International (ODI) cricket.

The 36-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman announced the retirement via a heartfelt post on his official Facebook page on Wednesday night. However, he confirmed that he will continue to represent Bangladesh in Test cricket. This decision comes after his earlier retirement from T20 Internationals in September 2022.

A decorated player with 274 ODIs



to his name, Mushfiqur holds the record for the most ODIs played for Bangladesh. The 37-year-old is the highest run scorer for the country, with 7,795 runs, featuring nine centuries and 49 fifties in the 50-over format.

Not just his batting; Mushfiqur’s wicket-keeping career boasts 297 dismissals in ODIs, finishing fifth in the all-time list behind the likes of Kumar Sangakkara, Adam Gilchrist, MS Dhoni, and Mark Boucher.
