New Zealand fast bowler Adam Milne has been ruled out of the remainder of the ODI series against England. The speedster sustained a low grade hamstring injury before the opening match on Friday, September 8 at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.

Later, after scans, the decision to rule him out of the series was taken. However, Milne will stay with the New Zealand squad for his rehabilitation. It remains to be seen if the seamer gets fit for the series in Bangladesh.

The Black Caps, in the meantime, roped in Ben Lister as a replacement for Milne. Lister is currently playing for Kent in the ongoing County Championship.

"We have short turnarounds between these matches and want to try and look after the players as much as possible with the

upcoming schedule," Stead was quoted as saying.

"With Ben already here in England, it meant we could have him join the squad at short notice without the recovery time of a bowler joining from New Zealand mid-series," he stated.

The 27-year-old Lister has played one ODI and 10 T20Is thus far, where he has picked up 11 wickets.

"Ben impressed us in the UAE and warm-up matches in England and will continue to learn being around some senior players in the touring group," he added.

New Zealand are currently leading the series 1-0 after winning the series opener on Friday. Devon Conway and Daryl Mitchell racked up quick centuries. The second ODI is scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 10 at the Rose Bowl in Southampton.
