Kanpur: At lunch on Day 3 of the first Test, New Zealand are at 197/2 and still in a commanding position against India at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. New Zealand openers added 151 runs for the first wicket before Will Young was sent back to the pavilion by Ravichandran Ashwin. Young batted brilliantly for his 89-run knock and showed great temperament and skillset against the Indian attack.
However, Young's
opening partner, Tom Latham is still batting on 82 while skipper Kane Williamson was dismissed on the last ball of the first session by Umesh Yadav.
Earlier, India were bowled out for 345 runs in their first innings where Shreyas Iyer smashed a century on his debut. For New Zealand, Tim Southee was the stand-out performer with his five-wicket haul.
