Hyderabad: Reigning world champion from Telangana Nikhat Zareen has been named in the Indian boxing team for the upcoming Asian Games which will be held in Hangzhou in China.

The boxer from Nizamabad sealed the spot in the women’s 51kg category by virtue of reaching the final of the World Championships in March.

However, another Telangana boxer from Nizamabad



Mohammad Hussamuddin missed out in the 57kg category as he is recovering from the knee injury he suffered during the quarterfinal of the championship in May.

While 2021 World Youth champion Sachin Siwach has moved up from 54kg to 57kg in the absence of Worlds bronze medallist Mohammad Hussamuddin, who is recovering from a knee injury suffered during the quarterfinal of the championship in May.
