Suryakumar Yadav, on Sunday, November 20, scored an unbeaten 111 off 51 balls with the help of 11 fours and seven sixes in the second T20I against New Zealand on Sunday, November 20 at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
Yadav’s knock helped the Men in Blue post a massive score of 191 for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. He came to bat at No.3 and got to his half-century off 32 balls. From
there on, he upped the ante and got his next 50 off just 16 balls.
Barring Suryakumar, the other batters couldn’t quite get going. Ishan Kishan scored 36 runs off 31 balls with five fours and a six before leg-spinner Ish Sodhi accounted for his wicket.
Had Suryakumar not scored a century, India wouldn’t have been able to get the big score in the second match of the series.
