PAK vs AFG: Afghanistan complete highest-ever successful chase against Pakistan in World Cups

Afghanistan registered the highest successful run-chase against Pakistan in the history of ODI World Cups. Afghanistan chased down 283 runs at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai to hand Pakistan an 8-wicket defeat in the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

It was a historic win for the Afghans as they registered just their third win in the history of ODI



World Cups and their first-ever victory against neighbors Pakistan in the 50-over format. Pakistan had a 7-0 record against Afghanistan in ODIs prior to this game in Chennai.

The previous highest run-chase against Pakistan in ODI World Cups came in 2003, when Sachin Tendulkar played a memorable knock as India chased down 276 to win the game in Centurion, South Africa.
