As a blow for the Pakistan cricket team, seasoned all-rounder Shadab Khan has been ruled out of the remainder of the South Africa tour and the succeeding tour of Zimbabwe. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), on Monday, confirmed that the player will miss the upcoming fixtures due to a toe injury.
The toe injury, which was suffered while batting in the 2nd ODI against South Africa on Sunday, will sideline the spinner for up to
four weeks. While Pakistan won the opener ODI, hosts South Africa bounced back on Sunday to win the second ODI by 17 runs to level the three-match series.
"X-rays conducted following the match revealed an 'intra articular communicated fracture' though there is neither any displacement nor angulation," the PCB said in a statement.
"The injury will be treated conservatively and Shadab will undergo a four-week rehab."
