India crashed out of the Asian Cricket Council Emerging Teams Cup after losing by three runs to Pakistan in the first semifinal in Dhaka yesterday.
Pakistan scored 267 for seven after opting to bat first. Chasing the target, Skipper Belur Ravi Sharath with 47 and Aryan Juyal with 17 runs made a bright start, stitching 43 runs for the opening wicket.
Top-scorer Sanvir Singh scored 76 runs but India were dealt a
severe blow when Armaan Jaffer 46 and Yash Rathod 13 were dismissed in quick succession, reducing the team to 211 for five in 38.1 overs.
With five wickets in hand, the target was still achievable, but India kept losing wickets and were stopped at 264 for eight.
Bangladesh will take on Afghanistan in the second Semifinal today. The final match will be played on Saturday.
