Hardik Pandya on Saturday said he and his brother Krunal along with their mother will be donating 200 oxygen concentrators to hospitals in rural India even as the country is battling the second wave of Covid-19. Hardik said he believes the medical infrastructure in rural areas need support in the time of crisis and they are doing their bid to help aid the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Hardik Pandya, while speaking to the Indian Premier League website in the lead up to Mumbai Indians' Saturday evening encounter against Chennai Super Kings, added that the Pandya family wanted to show their gratitude and wished people
of the country safety amid the pandemic.
"Gratitude to all the medical staff, frontline workers and all the individuals who have come out and held their hands at such times to fight out the battle. Krunal, myself and my mother - basically our entire family, we were finding ways at trying to help out," Hardik said.
"We decided to donate 200 oxygen concentrators to the rural parts of India where I feel the medical infrastructure needs more support. We all understand it's difficult, we want to show our gratitude, support and just want to tell everyone that they're always there in our prayers," he added.
