PV Sindhu secured a straight game win over China's Wu Luo Yu to claim the women's singles title at the Syed Modi International event on Sunday, December 1. Sindhu won the match 21-14, 21-16 to secure her third Syed Modi international title. The Indian ace had won the title in 2017 and 2022 before the event this year having missed the 2023 edition due to injury.

Sindhu had made a strong start to match taking a 5-3 early lead but the Chinese shuttler would be on the heels of the Indian star throughout the game. At the mid-game break, the scoreline was 11-9 in favour of Sindhu as she understood the challenge in front of

her. After the break, Sindhu would quickly extend her lead to 4 points and calmly pushed it to game point with the score 20-14.

The second game saw Wu put on a strong challenge against the No.1 seed as the scores were level at 5-5. Wu would take the lead into the break at 11-10, when Sindhu decided to shift gears and take control of the championship match. Sindhu would go on a 5-0 run that would all but end the challenge from Wu.

While the Chinese ace was able to get some joy, it proved to be futile in the end as Sindhu would ultimately breezed past her to take the game and seal the championship.
