Madhya Pradesh find themselves in a strong position in their first innings at stumps on Day two of the Ranji Trophy final after Sarfaraz Khan's 134 powered Mumbai to 374 runs in Bengaluru.

Mumbai, who made a strong start to the match, found themselves in a spot of bother as they lost a few middle-order wickets quickly. Khan was able to rally the lower order and scored his fourth century of the season to help the 41-time Champions raise a good total.

The Mumbai batter racked up 134 runs and his knock consisted of 13 boundaries and two sixes. Gaurav Yadav and Anubhav Agarwal were the chief wicket-takers for Madhya Pradesh. Yadav picked up four wickets for 106 runs while Agarwal picked up three, conceding 81 runs.

In response to scaling Mumbai's total, Madhya Pradesh have gotten off to a strong start as Yash Dubey and Shubham Sharma have guided them to 123 runs



for the loss of one wicket.

Himanshu Mantri was the batter who was dismissed. Mantri scored 31 runs and was dismissed when the score was 47. His innings consisted of three boundaries and two sixes.

Sharma joined Dubey in the middle and the pair have been able to frustrate the Mumbai bowlers till now.

Dubey was unbeaten on 44 runs from 131 balls. He took his time in the middle and his innings consisted of six boundaries.

Sharma, on the other hand, showed a lot more intent and scored 41 runs off 65 balls. His knock consisted of six boundaries.

The pair has put up 76 runs for the third wicket as Madhya Pradesh currently trail Mumbai by 251 runs at stumps.

This has given Prithvi Shaw a lot to think about heading into the third day, as the Ranji Trophy final is evenly poised at the moment.
