Delhi Capitals regular captain Rishabh Pant will watch his team in action at the Arun Jaitley stadium on April 4 (Tuesday), when they host the defending champions Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023.

Pant was ruled out of the IPL 2023 as he is still undergoing rehab after being involved in a horrific car accident in December 2022. The Delhi-based franchise named David Warner as their captain for the 16th season of the IPL.

The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) Joint Secretary Rajan Manchanda confirmed that Pant will attend Delhi Capitals' match against Gujarat Titans, saying the star player will watch the match despite the injury.

"There's good news for our spectators tomorrow. Despite his injury, Rishabh Pant is coming to support his team. He is a star of Delhi (Capitals). I hope spectators will give him a clap that he is coming among his

cricketers despite such an injury," Manchanda told ANI.

"We are ready to host Rishabh Pant at the ground if he feels okay and Delhi Capitals allows it. We will take care of everything for him, be it picking him up from home or dropping him back. We will also create a special ramp till the dugout for his access," DDCA director Shyam Sharma told ANI.

Earlier, Warner urged Pant to take it "slow and easy" as he recovers from his injuries. The Australian had said that Pant still wants to support Delhi Capitals "as much as he can" in the IPL 2023, adding the India star cricketer will "try his best to come" for the matches.

"He's looking forward to supporting us as much as he can. I am sure he'll try his best to come and see us. But we want him to recover, take it slow and easy and get better as fast as he can," Warner said ahead of Delhi Capitals' opening match on April 1.
