Batting great Sachin Tendulkar left the fans in Raipur disappointed as he departed for a golden duck in the final of the Road Safety World Series 2022. Tendulkar did not trouble the scorers in the big final wherein he was captaining the India Legends against Sri Lanka Legends.
Sachin Tendulkar was undone by a sharp in-swinger from former Sri Lanka fast bowler Nuwan Kulasekara in the very first over of the final of the Road Safety World Series 2022. Tendulkar left a big gap between his bat and pad and the ball seamed enough to sneak through and hit the top of the off-stump.
Fans had flocked the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur to watch the India Legends in action in the final but the crowd went silent when Tendulkar walked back to the pavillion as early as the first
over.
Nuwan Kulasekara added to India's woes as he also got the big wicket of Suresh Raina in the powerplay. Raina made 4 runs before he was dismissed in the fast bowler's second over.
Notably, India had sent Vinay Kumar, former fast bowler, ahead of the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Stuart Binny, Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan in a surprising call in the batting order. Earlier in the day, Sachin Tendulkar won the toss and opted to bat on a dewy evening in Raipur.
Sachin Tendulkar had a middling campaign with India Legends in the Road Safety World Series. The batting great scored 85 runs in 6 matches for India Legends.
