Rohit Sharma, on Wednesday, October 11, hit the fastest hundred by an Indian batter in the history of the World Cup. The skipper got to the milestone off 63 balls in India’s match against Afghanistan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

chase down 273, Rohit started going after the Afghan bowling right from the word go. The right-handed batter got to his half-century off 30 balls as India scored 94 runs in the powerplay without losing a single wicket.

Even after the field spread out, Rohit did not stop taking the attack to the opposition bowlers. In the 14th over, Rohit creamed Mujeeb Ur Rahman for two fours, one through short fine and the other through mid off.
