Royal Challengers Bangalore lost their first game of the Women's Premier League 2024 season on Thursday, 29 February. The home team, playing at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium did exceptionally well in their chase of 195 runs against Delhi Capitals. Chasing a record target, the RCB team came out all guns blazing and fell just short of target - by 25 runs against Meg Lanning's

team.

RCB were restricted to 169/9 after losing a flurry of wickets in the last 4 overs of the game.

It was a night for big hits as both teams hit a total of 19 sixes - a record in the WPL history. RCB accounted for 8 of those, but at the end of it, the target just became too much for the home side, despite Smriti Mandhana's majestic 74 off just 43 balls.
