Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest batter to score a fifty in T20s. At the age of 14 years and 32 days, the left-handed batter set the record in the IPL 2025 match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) on Monday, April 28 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

The southpaw broke the record of Hassan Eisakhil, the son of former Afghanistan skipper Mohammad Nabi, who hit a fifty at the age of 15 years and 360 days while playing for Boost Defenders in the Shpageeza League 2022 match against Kabul Eagles at the Kabul International Cricket Stadium.

The teenager also broke the record for the youngest batter to hit a fifty in the IPL. He broke the record of Riyan Parag, who hit a fifty at the age of 17 years and 175

days against Delhi Capitals (DC) back in 2019. Parag had broken the record of Sanju Samson, who reached the landmark in 2013 at 18 years and 169 days.

Playing only his third match in IPL 2025, Vaibhav started playing his shots right from the word go after the Titans set the Royals a huge target of 210 to chase down. He smashed the fastest fifty of the ongoing tournament off 17 balls, reaching the landmark with a boundary off Washington Sundar in the last ball of the fifth over.

Earlier, Vaibhav became the youngest IPL debutant at the age of 14 years and 23 days when he played against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Jaipur. That he hit a six off the experienced Shardul Thakur in the very first ball he faced showed his fearless character.
