Australia batter David Warner looking in a menacing touch against South Africa on Saturday, 9 September. Warner scored his 20th ODI century while playing in Bloemfontein, and became the first ever opener from Australia to reach 20 hundreds as an opener.

Warner's hundred which he scored in 87 balls, helped Australia to get off to a strong start in the 2nd ODI match. Warner was in good form coming into the game and made great use of the flat Bloemfontein track to punish the pacers. At the time of getting out, Warner had notched up 106 runs and helped Australia to a score of 260/3 in 32.4 overs.

Warner hit 12 boundaries and 3 sixes in his innings and dominated both pacers and spinners on the track. During his time in the crease, Anrich Nortje had leaked 58 off his 5 overs. The left-hander added 151 runs with Marnus Labuschagne who also looked impressive on the

day.

Earlier in the game, Warner opened the innings with Travis Head. The left-handed duo raced to a 100-run partnership in 12 overs, giving a tremendous start to the visiting side. Travis Head looked in stunning form hitting a half-century off just 25 balls. Warner took his time and grew into the game and took apart the South Africa bowling attack.

Australia came into the game with a 1-0 lead in the series and were looking to extend it with a win before moving to Potchefstroom for their next game.

Warner trusted the bounce in the game and scored all across the park in a sensational display. The innings would give Warner and the Australian team good confidence ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023, set to be hosted in India in the months of October and November.

At the time of writing, Australia were 270/3 in 35 overs.
