Shahid Afridi has slammed Pakistan cricket board chairman Ramiz Raja for his comments on the Rawalpindi pitch for the first Test between England and Pakistan.
The pitch for the game came under the spotlight after England batters scored over 500 runs in Day One to put the hosts on the back foot.
Raja was quizzed about the conditions and he said that Pakistan was still years away from making a good Test cricket
pitch.
This has angered Afridi who said, as quoted by News 18, that he was shocked by the statements of the PCB chairman.
“The way Ramiz was speaking, I mean I was shocked to listen to him saying that we cannot make tracks like these. International matches have been going on in Pakistan for such a long time but then we say stuff like these. Ramiz said that he wanted a turning track I feel in this weather it would have been something big," Afridi told Samaa TV.
