Former India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has lashed out at Shahid Afridi after the Pakistan cricketer blamed the Indian Army for the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, that killed 26 people on April 22. In a strongly-worded post on social media, Dhawan urged Afridi to end the verbal diarrhoea and backed the Indian Army, saying that everyone in the country is proud of the efforts of the force.
Dhawan's response comes days after Afridi made bizarre comments on a television channel in Pakistan, alleging that a security lapse had led to the
terrorist attack.
The former Pakistan cricketer also criticised the media for their coverage of the incident and urged India to provide proof of Pakistan's involvement in the terror attack.
"We defeated you even in Kargil. You have already fallen so low - how much lower will you go? Instead of making pointless comments, it would be better if you used your mind for your country's progress, @SAfridiOfficial. We are extremely proud of our Indian Army. Bharat Mata Ki Jai! Jai Hind!" Dhawan said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
