The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday, October 2 announced a 16-man squad for the upcoming 3-match ODI series against South Africa at home. Shikhar Dhawan will lead the squad in the absence of Rohit Sharma, while Shreyas Iyer has been named vice-captain.
India’s T20I World Cup squad members are not part of the ODI series as the Australia-bound team will head to Perth for preparations as early as October 6. Meanwhile, India
have handed maiden call-ups to young batter Rajat Patidar and fast bowler Mukesh Kumar for the 3-match ODI series, starting October 6 in Lucknow.
