Every cricket lover in Hyderabad sat glued to the TV sets on Saturday morning as Hyderabadi cricketer Siraj began to play his first test cricket match. The expectations of Hyderabad cricket lovers were not belied, when Siraj claimed his first wicket and Hyderabad almost erupted in joy.
It took 43 balls for Mohammed Siraj to capture his first Test wicket when he had the dangerous Marnus Labuschagne caught at backward short leg by another Indian debutant of the match, Shubman
Gill.
Labuschagne, who was hit on the helmet by a vicious Siraj bouncer earlier, tried to play the ball on leg side but it went to Gill, who caught it nicely. Labuschagne made 48 of 123 balls and Australia were reduced to 134/5 in 49.3 overs.
The 26-year-old Siraj was brought for his second spell by skipper Rahane and he struck with his third ball of his eighth over. It was a big wicket for India as Labuschagne has been in good form in recent times.
