Smriti Mandhana has been nominated for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for December. Australian all-rounder Annabel Sutherland and South African left-arm spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba are the other nominees along with the dynamic Indian left-handed batter.
Mandhana had a stupendous outing across formats in December. In three T20Is against the West Indies, the southpaw scored 193 runs at an average of
64.33 with a top score of 77. In six ODIs last month, the 28-year-old scored 270 runs at an average of 45 with a top score of 105.
She failed in the first two ODIs on the tour of Australia, but chipped in with a century in the third game at the WACA in Perth. Mandhana also set the record for most hundreds in Women’s ODIs (4) in a calendar year. She also scored 91 in one of the ODIs against the West Indies.
