Paarl: South Africa beat India by seven wickets in the second One Day International at Boland Park in Paarl last night to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
Opting to bat first, the Visitors posted 287 runs for the loss of six wickets in stipulated 50 overs. Rishabh Pant top-scored for India with 85 off 71 balls while Skipper K L Rahul made 55 off 79 balls. Shardul Thakur
contributed with an unbeaten 38-ball 40 towards the end of the innings. For Proteas, Tabraiz Shamsi picked up two wickets.
In reply, the hosts overhauled the target in 48.1 overs riding on openers Janneman Malan's 91 runs and Quinton de Kock's 78. For India, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal and Shardul Thakur took one wicket apiece.
