Sri Lanka defeated India by seven wickets in the first ODI of the three-match series at Dharamsala yesterday. After bundling out the hosts for a paltry 112 in 38.2 overs, the visitors overhauled the target of 113, by making 114 for 3 in 20.4 overs.Opener Upul Tharanga was the top scorer with 49.
Earlier, put in to bat, India suffered a dramatic collapse. After they were left tottering
at 29 for seven, Mahendra Singh Dhoni helped the score go past the 100 mark with a fine 65 off 87 balls. For Sri Lanka, pacer Suranga Lakmal was the main wicket-taker with four wickets for 13 runs.
Sri Lanka lead the series One-Nil. The second match will be played at Mohali on Wednesday.
