South Africa defeated West Indies by three wickets (DLS method) in a rain-curtailed, Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup 2024 on Monday (IST). Chasing a revised target of 123 in 17 overs, South Africa lost their openers early but got back on track with Heinrich Klaasen's 21-run cameo off 9
balls.
However, West Indies kept on scalping wickets and made it a thrilling encounter. In the end, the Proteas chased down the target with five balls to spare and three wickets in hand. With this victory, South Africa joined England from Group 2 in the semi-finals of the tournament.
