India players looked relaxed and composed as they took the trip from Brisbane to Melbourne ahead of their T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 opener against arch-rivals Pakistan. India will take on Babar Azam's men at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday, October 23 to kickstart their campaign Down Under.
In a video shared on social media by the Indian cricket board (BCCI), the players looked in good spirits as they left their team hotel in Brisbane and boarded a flight to Melbourne. Captain Rohit Sharma, vice-captain KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik among others posed
for the cameras as the team shifted base.
India, unlike other teams, did not play bilateral series closer to the T20 World Cup. Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid's men instead opted to have an 8-day preparatory camp in Perth. India played two warm-up matches against a Western Australian XI at the WACA on October 10 and 13.
More importantly, India players made the best use of their off-day, grabbing some much-needed downtime. The players were seen sightseeing in Perth and also had a team trip to Rottnest Island, a protected nature reserve in Western Australia.
