Dubai: India beat Afghanistan by four wickets in their last group match to storm into the semi-finals of Under-19 Asia Cup, in Dubai yesterday. Put into bat first, Afghanistan scored 259 for 4 in the 50 overs with help of Ijaz Ahmad Ahmadzai's unbeaten 86 runs and skipper Suliman Safi's 73.
In reply, India overhauled the target with 10 balls to spare losing six wickets riding on Harnoor Singh's 65 and Raj Bawa's 43 not-out
knocks.
For Afghanistan, Noor Ahmad scalped four wickets. With this win, India were placed second in the group behind Pakistan, which won all their matches.
India will face the winners between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, who are pitted against each other in the last group league encounter. With India finishing second, they would meet the toppers of the other group in the semi-final.
