Updates: India were 74 for 4 against England

Chennai: India were batting on 74 for the loss of four wickets, Virat Kohli was batting on 5 and Ajinkya Rahane batting on 2, when the last reports came in. 

India will resume its second innings at the overnight score of 54 for one against England on day three of Chennai Test today.

Opener Rohit Sharma, 25, and Cheteshwar Pujara, 7, were at the crease when stumps were drawn yesterday. At the stumps on day 2 yesterday, the hosts were in



complete control with a lead of 249 runs. A lead of 249 is still considered a formidable target on a lively track in MA Chidambram stadium.  

 

Earlier, India bundled out England for 134 runs taking a first innings lead of 195 runs. For India, ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took 5 wickets where as Axar Patel and Ishant Sharma claimed 2 wickets each. India were all out for 329 runs in their first innings.
