People who came forward to help Indian Cricketer Rishabh Pant following his car accident will be honoured by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways under the Good Samaritan scheme of the Central government, announced Uttarakhand’s DGP, Ashok Kumar.
India's star wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was hospitalised after surviving a major car accident while he was returning from Delhi to Uttarakhand.
Pant was alone in the car when it crashed into a divider on the road and caught fire. The 25-year-old, who was on his way to his hometown Roorkee,
was taken to a local hospital. He suffered injuries to his head, back and feet, but is in a stable condition.
“After a road accident, the first hour for any victim - the golden period - is very crucial. It becomes necessary for a victim to get proper treatment within that one hour. The Good Samaritan scheme has been rolled out to encourage this social behaviour,” said the Uttarakhand DGP.
He further appealed to the people to come forward to help the injured they come across and that Uttarakhand police would fully cooperate in the endeavour.
