Chennai Super Kings pacer Shardul Thakur scored his first List A half-century to rescue Mumbai in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Himachal Pradesh on Monday. Shardul showed his prowess with the bat as he hit 92 runs off just 57 deliveries and helped Mumbai post an imposing 321 for 9 on the board.
Shardul raced to his maiden List A fifty off just 39 balls and entertained his teammates with six boundaries and six sixes during his 57-ball stay at the crease. Himachal Pradesh pacer Pankaj Jaswal dismissed Shardul Thakur with just two overs remaining in the innings.

Shardul Thakur had proven his credentials with the bat when he scored a magnificent 67 to rescue India in the third Test against Australia in January. Thakur had also taken 7 wickets in that game. In T20Is as well, he has often left the fans stunned with his power hitting. Shardul averages 59.00 for his 59 runs in the shortest format.
Shardul Thakur in his 62 first-class matches has a batting average of 16.00. In ODIs he averages 19.25, whereas in T20Is he averages a staggering 59.00 in 3 innings.
"I do believe I have some batting talent," Thakur had said in a video conference.
"I do work on my batting in the nets. We wait for these moments, these opportunities, to contribute with the bat," he added.
