Star batter Virat Kohli became the first cricketer to hit 1000 boundaries in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history. The 36-year-old needed only two boundaries against Delhi Capitals to name the record and he completed that inside four overs. Meanwhile, former cricketer Shikhar Dhawan stands second on the list with 920 boundaries while number three David Warner hit 899. Notably, Kohli is also the leading run-scorer in IPL history, having scored over 8000 runs in the cash-rich league.

Kohli departed after scoring 22 runs off 14 deliveries against Delhi Capitals at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The Delhi-born had a sensational start but after Phil Salt was dismissed for 37 runs off 17 balls, things got complicated. Devdutt Padikkal struggled heavily to make a mark as the cricketer departed for just one run off eight balls. Kohli tried to release some pressure off and got out in the process.

The host RCB were reduced to 76/3 and need something special from captain Rajat

Patidar and Liam Livingstone to post a defendable total on the board. On the other hand, Delhi are the only undefeated team in the IPL 2025 so far. The Axar Patel-led side missed the service of Faf du Plessis in the previous match but the former South Africa international is back from his injury and will be opening alongside Jake Fraser-McGurk.

“Faf is fit, he's in and (Sameer Rizvi) Rizzie is out.  We've decided on our order and KL will bat in the middle order,” captain Axar said after the toss.
