Wasim Jaffer had a funny message in store after Virat Kohli took the attack to Nandre Burger during the match between Bengaluru and Rajasthan on Saturday, April 6 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The right-handed Kohli hit Burger for a couple of fours in the second over. But in Burger’s second over, Kohli pulled off a stroke that left Jaffer awestruck.
In the second ball of the fourth over, Burger tried to bowl a short-pitched delivery, but Kohli was equal to the task. Kohli rocked on to the backfoot and pulled the bowler for a massive six over the deep square leg region. He played the shot out of the middle of the bat. After Kohli took the attack to Burger, Jaffer put in a
hilarious message to praise Kohli.
Kohli looked in stupendous form in the match against Rajasthan. Prior to Saturday’s match, he did not score a single half-century in the IPL at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. But Kohli did not let the poor record affect him. Instead, he played his shots right from the word go and showed why he is regarded as one of the best in the business.
Kohli scored his half-century off 39 balls and looked more and more comfortable in the middle. He also brought up his 100-run stand with skipper Faf du Plessis off 68 balls. Kohli and du Plessis eventually went on to stitch together a partnership of 125 runs for the opening wicket off 14 overs.
