Pakistan's failure to improve their NRR in the last group match against England in Kolkata meant New Zealand joined India, South Africa and Australia in confirming their semi-final spots at the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 in Australia.

India topped the group stages after winning eight group matches (the last match against the Netherlands on November 12) and will now play New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in Semi-Final 1 on Wednesday, 15 November. The game is set to start at 2 pm IST at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the very location where India secured an impressive 302-run triumph against Sri Lanka earlier in the tournament.

South Africa, who finished second in the group stages, will now play third-placed Australia at the Eden Gardens in the second semi-final on Thursday 16 November. The match is scheduled to start at 2 pm IST, and the victorious team will

advance to the final, where they will face either India or New Zealand.

This will be the first repeat set of the semi-finals in ODI World Cup history. As in the 2015 World Cup, India, Australia, and New Zealand made it to the last four with MS Dhoni's side taking on the Michael Clarke-led team.
