Germany and Bayern Munich footballer Thomas Muller extended his support for the Indian team ahead of their World Cup 2023 semifinal match against New Zealand, scheduled to be played in Mumbai on November 15. Muller wore Virat Kohli's shirt and expressed gratitude to the Indian squad for the gift.

Muller has played 125 matches for the German men's national team since his debut in March 2010. The German forward also plays for Bayern Munich in Germany's top-tier football league, the Bundesliga, where he has appeared in 470 matches.

The 2014 World Cup champion revealed the Indian team shirt in a video shared on his X account, formerly known as Twitter, in which he also named star Indian batter Virat Kohli in the description. This isn't the first time Thomas Muller has backed the Indian men's cricket

team in a World Cup. Ahead of India's World Cup campaign in England and Wales in 2019, the German professional player was spotted wearing an India jersey and expressing his support for the then-Virat Kohli-led team.

After defeating all nine opponents thus far in the World Cup 2023, India will meet New Zealand in the first semi-final on November 15 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Given the two teams' excellent form, the India vs. New Zealand semi-final promises to be a thrilling contest that might go all the way to the final ball.

The men in blue have reached the World Cup semifinals twice in the last two years, only to falter at the final hurdle. The Indian squad will enter the field looking to revenge their loss in the 2019 World Cup semifinal when they were defeated in agony by Wednesday's opponents.
