Women's World Cup: Match between India and Bangladesh underway in Hamilton; India 229/7

Hamilton: In the women's world cup, India made 229 for 7 in 50 overs against Bangladesh in a must-win match at Seddon Park in Hamilton. India have won the toss and elected to bat first. India lost both openers in quick succession after a 74 run opening stand between them. Smriti Mandhana was out for 30 runs while Shafali Verma made 42. India made one change in the playing eleven as it brought in Poonam Yadav in place of Meghna

India needs to win their last two matches against Bangladesh and South Africa to keep alive their hopes of making the grade. Bangladesh have already surprised one Subcontinent team in Pakistan, they would look to upset another.

In the league stage so far, India have won two matches and lost three while Bangladesh lost three out of four matches it played.
