The World Cup 2023 final is set and it will be India and Australia meeting in the summit clash in Ahmedabad on November 19.

This will be the second time India and Australia will be meeting in the World Cup final after the classic in 2003 where Indian hearts were broken. Both teams are in form at the moment, with India on a 10-match winning streak, which started with the win over the Aussies in Chennai.

Australia started with two losses, but found form at the right time as they are on an eight-match winning streak and were also able to get their revenge on South Africa after the hammering they got in their second match.

The match went down to the wire but the Aussies edged past the Proteas by three wickets to make it to the final against India.

Australia will now face India in a

third ICC event final and they hold a fantastic record as well. The Aussies are 2-0 against India at the moment with wins in the 2003 World Cup and the 2023 World Test Championship final.

In the 2003 ICC World Cup final held on March 23 at the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, Australia emerged victorious over India. The Australian team, led by Ricky Ponting, put up a formidable score of 359 runs for the loss of just two wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Ponting himself played a captain's knock, scoring an unbeaten 140 runs, which earned him the Player of the Match award. Despite having the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who was named Player of the Series, India could not chase down the mammoth target and were bowled out for 234 runs in 39.2 overs. This win marked Australia's third World Cup title and their second consecutive triumph in the tournament.
