A lot of enthusiasm is being seen in the match between India and Pakistan to be held in Ahmedabad, even though there is 2 months left in the match, the prices of hotel and air travel have skyrocketed.
According to the new schedule of the ICC, now the India-Pakistan match will be held on October 14 instead of October 15. Due to this match being held at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, the world's largest cricket stadium, the advance booking in the star category hotels is almost complete. One day's rent in hotels of three level to 5 star category has reached from 20,000 to 2.5 lakh rupees, the booking done in the presidential suite has been done at the cost of 1 lakh to 2.5 lakh rupees.
The main reason for which is believed to be the impatient waiting among the cricket lovers for the match. The Hotel Association believes that once the tickets for the match are confirmed, all small and big hotels and sharing flats within 100 km of Ahmedabad will also be booked. The tickets for this match haven't started selling yet, this is the condition even before that, so when the tickets will be confirmed, after that the prices will increase at other places as well.
The big reason for this is that the capacity of the stadium is more than 1 lakh spectators and about 30-40 thousand people will come from outside Gujarat, due to which the prices are skyrocketing.
In a five star deluxe hotel in Ahmedabad where there are about 180 rooms which are almost fully booked. Even before this the officials and crew related to BCCI and ICC matches have stayed in this hotel.
To know why the Presidential Suite is so expensive here, our team reached there and got to know about the facilities available.
"It was a matter of hotels, but even air travel has become expensive in those days. In most of the flights coming from Mumbai and Delhi to Ahmedabad from October 13 to 15, the prices have already reached from 10 thousand to 25 thousand, which are expected to increase further. In normal days, this fare ranges from 2.5 thousand to 5 thousand, which has increased 5 times because of this match. This is the condition when the ticket sales for the match have not even started," said Narendra Somani, president, Gujarat Hotel and Restaurant Association.
"Separate arrangements are being made in the biggest club of the city regarding this big match being held in Gujarat. Room booking has already been done by the club members for their guests, and at the same time AC arrangements are being made in the open air theater of the club for 10,000 people to watch the match together. Preparations are being made to watch this match like a festival with band instruments," said Ketan Patel, president of Karnavati Club.
This situation is two months before the match and ticket sales have not even started yet. As the day of the match draws closer, its effect will be more visible and cricket lovers will join their family and friends in this big festival, this is also certain. Eagerly waiting for the ticket sales to start. It is important that the World Cup 2023 is starting from 5th October and Team India will start its World Cup campaign against Australia on 8th October.
