Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has denied media reports suggesting that he would contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Gurdaspur in Punjab.

Yuvraj Singh took to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday to clarify his position. He said he had no intention to venture into politics and would continue helping people through his foundation You We Can.

"Contrary to media reports, I'm not contesting elections from Gurdaspur. My passion lies in supporting and helping people in various

capacities, and I will continue to do so through my foundation You We Can. Let's continue making a difference together to the best of our abilities," Yuvraj Singh said in the post.

Reports floating in the media suggested that the World Cup winner would contest the Lok Sabha elections on a BJP ticket from Gurdaspur, replacing actor Sunny Deol who is the current Member of Parliament from the seat.

The reports emerged after Yuvraj Singh's recent meeting with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
